Windows Azure Training
U2U starts with engagement courses about Azure
Windows Azure has been announced by Microsoft at PDC 2008 and for the
developers community it is operational in an alpha version. Time for U2U
to start with engagement workshops and early adopter courses, workshops
and events. In the U2U offer you find today:
The Windows Azure Services Platform
Windows Azure is the new cloud operating system by Microsoft. Azure serves
as the service hosting and service management environment for the Azure
Services Platform. Windows Azure provides us with on-demand compute and
storage services allowing us to host, scale, and manage our Web applications on the internet
through Microsoft data centers.
In the current alpha version of Windows Azure we find:
Computation Services
- We can run our ASP.NET web and .NET applications on Azure
- Azure offers service hosting including Internet Information Services
7.0 and Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1
- Security is supported by flexible Code Access Security policies
- A small runtime API supports logging and local scratch storage
- Azure has a web portal interface helping us to deploy, scale, and
upgrade our services
Simple data storage services
- As data storage Azure offers us blobs, tables and queues
- Authenticated access and triple replication keeps our data safe
- With REST interfaces we get easy access to data
Visual Studio Development Tools
- To build Azure applications and services, we developers can use
our existing Visual Studio 2008 expertise
- In addition, Azure supports popular standards and protocols including
SOAP, REST, and XML
- Azure comes with command-line SDK tools and samples
- Local debugging is available from within Visual Studio
U2U training on Azure
U2U trainers strongly believe in the success of this new Microsoft platform
and have created some exciting workshops for early adopters. At U2U we
offer an engagement program and a 2-day workshop:
Engage your organization in Windows Azure - Create a PoC
With combined forces U2U and Class-A organize a special engagement
program for Microsoft development teams who want to implement
their first Azure-platform proof-of-concept applications. This Azure
engagement program is composed of a 2 day course at the U2U or Class-A
training centers and an individual assistance and coaching program. The
main objectives are to realize a Proof of Concept (PoC) application
running on Windows Azure. Register for this engagement program and
obtain:
- Awareness meeting for business and management
- 2 days of technical training for 2 developers
- 10 hours of coaching
- Exposure in the Microsoft Community
Workshop "Developing cloud based applications for Windows Azure"

applications for Azure. The U2U Azure courses target early adopters who
want to acquire a good understanding of the Azure platform: You will not
only discover the technologies for creating the future type of applications
running on Azure, but you will also learn how to enable your existing applications
for the Azure services available today and how to migrate existing applications
